SMU Mustangs face a pivotal backfield shakeup as Dramekco Green is sidelined by a hand injury, thrusting standout Kendrick Raphael and freshmen Christian Rhodes and EJ Kelly into the spotlight. Can the young rushers fill the gap, and will SMU’s offense maintain its explosive pace with a retooled running game? Grayson Singleton breaks down SMU’s offensive efficiency, revealing strong EPA and third-down conversion rates—yet points per drive lag behind due to turnovers and costly penalties in scoring territory. He compares the Mustangs’ discipline to Wake Forest, questioning whether SMU or the more buttoned-up Demon Deacons pose the greatest threat to Miami in the ACC Championship race. Key topics include Raphael’s workload management, the impact of freshmen debuts, and the critical need for cleaner play as SMU aims to unlock its true potential. Is SMU poised to reclaim its status as Miami’s top challenger?
