Grayson Singleton breaks down why SMU isn't yet good enough to compete for an ACC Championship or challenge Miami but details how SMU can use the bye week to reach a gear the team hasn't just yet in 2026. He also notes that SMU needs to create more takeaways as the Mustangs have seemingly gotten away from doing something they did so well for the last two years. Lastly, Grayson puts the onus on Rhett Lashlee and the Mustangs coaching staff, including Defensive Coordinator Maurice Crum, Jr to evolve the ways they coach and get better during the bye week so they can elevate SMU to its ceiling.
